How perseverance helped the Indian businessman achieve his dream.
When people encounter the first obstacles on the path to their dreams, many of them begin to doubt their own abilities. The difficulties that arise are often perceived as a sign that the goal is unattainable and all efforts are in vain. Therefore, most people mistakenly give up and abandon their goals. However, the story of Ankush Sachdeva, a young Indian entrepreneur, demonstrates that true success comes to those who persistently pursue their goals, regardless of obstacles.
From idea to the pinnacle
From an early age, the businessman showed an interest in technology and innovation. The desire for knowledge and perseverance led him to the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, where he received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. After graduating from college, Sachdeva, along with like-minded people Bhanu Pratap Singh and Farid Ahsan, decided to create their own technology start-up. That’s how ShareChat was born in 2015.
The main idea of Ankush Sachdeva and his business partners was to create a platform adapted for residents of India who are uncomfortable using social services in English. Now ShareChat is available in 15 of the most widespread languages in India, including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and others.
The next major success of Sachdeva and his colleagues was the launch of Moj, a platform for creating and sharing short videos. The application quickly gained popularity and within the first 6 months after its launch, more than 100 million people installed it.
Failures as a springboard to success
The future businessman’s path to success was by no means easy and quick. Ankush has tried many times to launch his own projects, and all of them failed. In such a situation, many could have given up, but the young man continued to believe in his idea and persistently move forward. ShareChat was his 18th attempt, which finally brought the long-awaited success.
It is due to perseverance and unwavering belief in his idea that Ankush Sachdeva is now the CEO of Mohalla Tech Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of ShareChat. Under his leadership, the organization has attracted millions of dollars in investments. This allowed to expand the functionality and audience of the ShareChat and Moj platforms, which today have more than 325 million monthly active users.
Ankush Sachdeva’s persistent pursuit of his goals has helped him achieve not only wealth but also recognition. In 2018, he, along with Bhanu Pratap Singh and Farid Ahsan, were included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. And in 2024, Sachdeva was recognized as the youngest Indian entrepreneur not only to make it to, but also to top the prestigious Hurun’s India Under 35 list.
Sachdeva’s story is a reminder that success comes to those who do not give up. Therefore, on the way to your goal, follow his example: believe in your ideas and keep moving forward. After all, it is through perseverance and determination that you can achieve outstanding results.
